In 2013 I lost someone very close to me. The next year I lost another loved one, then a couple of years later another. Death has a way of breaking you open and teaching you things you don't want to know. My heart was so heavy, I wasn't able to write this song for a long time. I remember sitting in the lobby of a funeral home, and during the cremation, I could hear the fire consuming my loved one's body. I can not describe how much it hurt. I will always cary the weight of my loved ones with me. I dream of the day, my heart will rise from the ashes like a phoenix on fire.
